News and Announcements

Dear Parents and Swimmers,

Please pay attention to the pool cancellations this week.

We had a fine time at the parent’s social on Friday evening. Swimming should be fun for the adults, too!

The revised qualifying times for the YMCA State Meet that we will be hosting at Saginaw Valley State are now on the website. The time standards for other championship meets are expected soon. After we receive these we will print our goal sheets to help the swimmers map their progress. Remember, championship meets are required so mark your calendars now. The dates for all of our championship meets are listed in “Meets” section of the website. The State Meet is called the 9 and over State Meet, but any younger swimmer who achieves a cut is welcome to attend as well.

We are very fortunate to have the use of the Groves High School pool on Sundays. There are eleven lanes in the main pool. Coach Pat has been there filming our swimmers and giving them feedback. I’d sure like to see more of the swimmers take advantage of the Sunday workouts.

Please support our National Team by attending the Nat Team clinics. Our elite swimmers will be in the pool working with our younger athletes. It is a fundraiser, a great team bonding exercise, and very inspiring to our younger swimmers.

Have a great week!

Kevin

Dear BBD Parents,

We are so excited to host the first YMCA meet of the season! In the past we have asked each family to bring in drinks associated with their last name in the alphabet, but after an assessment last year we realized we were creating a surplus of beverages that weren’t consumed so we want to try to lessen the waste and expand to all categories of concessions.

Items can be delivered Monday- Friday at noon the week of the meet to the YMCA front desk labeled BBD Meet. If you have a morning swimmer on Saturday you can bring your items then but all goods must be delivered well before meet start time to allow our parent volunteers time to set up. If you’ve signed up for an item please take that commitment earnestly as our Concessions volunteers will be counting on those items. If delivery is an issue please contact Nikki at nikkigschwartz@gmail.com or Liz at Elizabeth.Horbach@gmail.com to arrange for an alternative drop off.

We sincerely appreciate your support securing as many of the below items as possible so that we can run a well stocked concession stand for all swimmers and spectators!

See you at the pool!

Best,
BBD Boosters

The coaches are looking for 100% participation in this meet from our swimmers. This is a YMCA meet and will count as one meet towards your three YMCA meet requirements. We won’t be able to accept late entries from parents who miss the signup deadline. No exceptions, so please sign up ASAP.
