Dear Parents and Swimmers,

Thank you to the families who supported the National Team Clinics on Sunday. We had about fifty swimmers in two groups that were able to meet and bond with some of our older swimmers. It is gratifying to see teammates working together. I know it was a memorable session for our young swimmers.

We are adjusting our Thursday night schedule for our 13-14 age swimmers. Practice will be from 6:00-8:00 at Covington for the foreseeable future.

We begin our competitive season this weekend with the OLY Meet. This is a USA Swimming Meet. Swimmers must check in when they arrive. Please be punctual. Late arrivals may be scratched. We have our distance events. Swimmers who are entered in the 500 free must have a counter. Please make a plan to provide one before Friday.

The RAYS team has decided to eliminate events for eight and unders at their invitational on November 11-12. I have protested, but it will not change. I don’t think their decision is in keeping with Y values, and I am very disappointed, but I wanted you to know for your planning.
