Dear Swimmers and Parents,

Our swimmers had another excellent meet this past weekend. Congratulations!

This week Coach Peter will escort seniors Angus MacDonald and Joey Stebbins to the 2023 WinterJuniors Meet. Good luck, gentlemen….I am sure you will make us proud!

Coaches are distributing the awards and goal sheets. Please help the young swimmers complete their goal sheets by referring to their season’s performances on Meet Mobile. When they have completed them, put them in a zip-lock bag with a writing implement and have them bring them to practice and a coach will review their times and set some intermediate and long-term goals. This is an amazingly effective practice and I would like all of our swimmers to take advantage of it. Then, post the goal sheet in a conspicuous spot at home (the refrigerator, the bathroom mirror, their bedpost….) where a swimmer can see them and be reminded of where they want to be at the end of the season.

Holiday Practice Schedule:

Regular practice through December 22nd with one exception. 9/10s and 11/12s will both be at Cranbrook on December 22.

Regular practices resume at Cranbrook on January 2nd and at Derby on January 3rd.

9/10 and 11/12 – 5:45 to 7:15 @ Cranbrook
13/14 and 15/18 – normal practice

13/14 and 15/18 – 11:00-1:00 @ Cranbrook

If you are traveling please try to find a place to train. Most teams welcome visitors (we do!) and your Y membership should work at Ys across the country.

Kudos to the board……when we used Groves for the “Day-After Meet” there were no additional charges because of the excellent job you did setting up and cleaning up. Another reason to be proud of our entire team!!

Thank you to the group moms for the hot chocolate after practice. I know the swimmers were appreciative.

I have two beautiful BBD winter hats that were left at the meet. Let me know they are yours. Also, a boy swimmer is missing a team suit from the meet this weekend with his name in it. Please double check your bags to make sure you don’t have an extra. Please reply to this email if you have the suit.
